The Walker County Genealogical Society and the Mary Martin Elmore Scott Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution have joined together to celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary in July of 2026. The two societies announce their decision to partner together to produce a book celebrating the American Revolution ancestors of Walker County and contiguous counties citizens. If you have an ancestor who participated during the American Revolution (1774-1781) in whatever manner, patriot, loyalist, British soldier, enslaved, mercenary, shop owner, you are requested to submit a biography about that ancestor with emphasis on their American Revolution participation. There will be no limit on how many ancestors you may submit or how many words you may use. The deadline for entry of your biographies shall be March 1st, 2026, with the book being published in mid-June of 2026. Downloadable information is available through the below button. We hope you will join with us to celebrate America's 250th Anniversary and your ancestor.
