Walker County Genealogical Society meets September through May with 4 to 5 special events each year including the summer months. Each meeting includes a presentation.

Writing Short Course -
Stories to Tell My Grandchildren
The third Wednesday of each month (September through May) the WCGS will host a writing circle in the Johnnie Jo Sowell Dickenson Genealogy Room of the Huntsville Public Library from 2 pm to 4 pm. Each meeting will have a short 15 minute presentation on a different aspect of writing and will have a time to discuss stories you are writing and problems or successes you are having. Stay 10 minutes or stay 2 hours - come join us and start making your family stories come alive. Every way to write is RIGHT so come and start your blog or Facebook post or just write a paragraph about your cat. The meeting is free and open to everyone.
